It finally happened. Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will fight on Friday, December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, and the whole thing streams live on Netflix at no extra cost to members.
British boxing’s biggest fight has been discussed, negotiated, collapsed and revived for the better part of a decade. It is real now.
The Records
Fury comes in at 36-2-1 with 25 knockouts. Joshua is 30-4 with 27 knockouts. Neither man is the fighter he was at his absolute peak, and both are still enormous draws with legitimate power.
They have never met professionally. That is the entire reason this fight retains its value. Most of the big heavyweight matchups of the last decade eventually got made. This one never did, until now.
Netflix Changed the Math
Here is the part that matters beyond the fight itself. There is no pay-per-view charge: the fight is included with a Netflix subscription, worldwide.
Both men have already headlined for the platform. Joshua knocked out Jake Paul in December 2025. Fury beat Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April 2026.
The pay-per-view model has been strangling boxing for 20 years, pricing casual fans out of the sport and then wondering why nobody under 30 can name a champion. A free global stream of the biggest heavyweight fight available is the single healthiest thing to happen to the sport in a generation.
Dana White Is Promoting a Boxing Match
The Ring and Dana White are collaborating on promotion, which is a sentence that would have sounded insane five years ago.
Turki Alalshikh confirmed the matchup and called it one of the biggest fights in boxing history. Netflix sports VP Gabe Spitzer described it as a fight years in the making between two of boxing’s biggest stars.
Say what you want about the money behind all of it. Boxing has spent decades unable to make the fights fans wanted. Somebody finally forced it.
What to Expect in the Ring
Fury is the better boxer, the better mover and the more durable of the two at this stage. Joshua is the bigger puncher and has shown he can end a fight with one clean right hand.
The stylistic read favors Fury on points if he stays disciplined. It favors Joshua if Fury does what Fury does and starts showboating with his hands down.
Mark the Date
A press conference is scheduled for September 30 at British Airways Arc in London. The undercard gets announced later and is expected to be stacked.
